Appearance
Atsushi is a young man with brown, neck-length hair.
He's only seen wearing a white t-shirt, red pants, and white socks.
Personality
Atsushi is shown to be a quiet and lonely person. After he graduated from a local high school, he declined to seek employment and instead stayed at home all day, doing nothing but playing on his computer.
Plot
Atsushi was Yumi Ogura's brother. He was not seen in the anime very often, as he was an otaku and a shut-in.
In "Body Paint", he was crushed to death by a runaway excavator that crashed into his home. Yumi arrived home and found her home wrecked; his death, coupled with Aya Ayano's, devastated her.
Later on, she used it as a justification for attacking Mei, screaming that she'd avenge her brother.
Trivia
- His home address is 2-8 Akatsukicho, Yomiyama City, just like his sister's.
- His first name, Atsushi, means industrious.
- He never appeared in the manga, nor is he mentioned. However, Izumi's brother, Kazuma Akazawa, appears in the manga and dies after Shoji Kubodera, so it might be a reference to Atsushi.
- The causes of his deaths are different in each adaptation.
- In the novel, the construction vehicle accident occurred on July 30th at 5:26 PM, and he suffered a fractured skull and serious wounds all over his body as a result of the accident. He later died at the hospital before dawn on the 31st.
