Sphere Joint is the seventh episode of Another. It aired on February 20th, 2012.

Mr. Kubodera, homeroom teacher of Class 3-3, stabs himself to death in front of his class, leaving the students completely traumatized. The students scream and run out of the classroom, while covered in Kubodera's blood. Tatsuji Chibiki and Mikami-Sensei come into the classroom. Mikami-Sensei is horrified at the scene. It is later revealed that before killing himself, Kubodera had also murdered his ailing mother. This event proves that the countermeasures in effect so far have been unsuccessful so Mei Misaki and Kouichi Sakakibara's existence are once again acknowledged by their classmates. Afterwards, Kouichi meets up with Yuuya Mochizuki, Naoya Teshigawara, and Izumi Akazawa in a cafe, where Yuuya's older sister tells them about Katsumi Matsunaga. Katsumi is a former Class 3-3 student who managed to stop the phenomenon in 1983 and left information on how he did it for future students to find. However, it seems as though he does not remember what or where this information may be. Kouichi explains the situation to Mei, including his fear of being the dead one behind this year's calamity, to which she eerily responds that he is not the one.
